As an alternative to the more traditional 4-post,
ram-style hydraulic Roll Forming Presses, Roll-Kraft offers a line of
high-speed Cut-Off Roll Forming Presses,
Hydraulic Cut-Off Roll Forming Presses,
Flying Cut-Off Roll Forming Presses. Having the
ability to cut at high speeds is not the only reason to
consider this type of press. In many cases, the price is
much lower than traditional presses, simply because there
are fewer components.
The key advantage of this press is that the cylinder
mounts directly to the die shell, thus eliminating the need
for a ram plate. In a flying die operation using a
traditional 4-post press, there is a momentary braking
action taking place, when the ram plate meets the striker
plate of the flying (moving) die. This braking action is
eliminated with a cylinder-mounted press (die set), and
combined with long travel linear rails, higher speeds are
obtainable.
