Universal/Raft Type Roll Forming Machines
A rafted, universal drive
Roll Form Machine
is an excellent alternative to a traditional, non-rafted
machine for multiple tooling sets or when frequent
changeover is required. These machines are very
versatile and can fit a broad range of products.

Each set of
Roll Tooling
mounted on its own raft eliminates as
much as 80% of changeover time. This is
ideal for maximizing profit,
particularly with smaller production
runs.

The
Roll Tooling,
Entry Stands,
and
Straightening
fixtures
do not require adjustments when making a
changeover, thus minimizing the scrap
generated when compared with a
traditional non-rafted machine.

The
universal drive shaft design allows for
simple gearing changes and the ability
to idle or float the spindles at any
station.

Features:

Pinion Stands
- Includes two output shafts on fixed
vertical centers, mounted in
anti-friction bearings, and driven by a
worm gear set. Gear ratios can be
changed without disassembling the pinion
stand. Each pinion stand is a
completely self-contained unit, with its
own oil supply and oil level sight
gauge.

Mill
Housings
- Housings have the open-window design
for mounting spindles, which are carried
in bearing box assemblies with
anti-friction bearings and proper
lubrication fittings. The top spindle
assembly is supported by large-diameter
adjusting screws, equipped with
micrometer dials for fast, accurate
settings. Engraved scales and pointers
permit rapid reference settings.

Top
and Bottom Roll Spindles
– These
spindles are driven from the pinion
stands by universal couplings. The
quick-disconnect arrangement assures
fast changeover of tooling. Universal
couplings can be disconnected, when
necessary, to idle roll shafts for
certain forming applications.

Forming Units and Pinion Stands
- Mounted onto a cabinet-type or welded
tubular constructed base, reinforced for
rigidity and accurately machined. Our
forming machines are available with any
number of stands to suit your specific
requirements, present and future.

Optional Features:

Internal
or external coolant tank option includes
easily removable sediment separator in
line between reservoir and pump.

Drive motor, when permissible and
possible, mounted inside base to
conserve floor space and improve
operator safety.

Extra base length is available, as part
of original equipment, to increase
machine capacity at a future date.

To further improve any roll forming
operation, a complete line of auxiliary
items are available. Some of the items
are adjustable entry tables, adjustable
side roll stands, straightener units,
etc.
