Tube and Pipe Welding Units
Tube and Pipe Welding
units, or weld boxes, come in a variety of configurations,
from a 3-roll “chuck style” (shown) to a 2-, 4-,
or 6-roll type (similar to a side pass
stand). These units are custom designed, based on the
welding application, material type, or tube size required.
Liquid-cooled weld rollers are also a common element in many
weld boxes.
Features:
-
Heavy-duty weldment, stress relieved
before machining
-
Weld roll clevises are made from 300
series stainless steel for induction
welding applications.This substantially
reduces the energy absorption into the
weld box, and puts more power to the
weld zone, increasing your welding
efficiency.
-
Weld roll shafts are also made from
stainless steel for induction welding
applications and are designed to be an
assembly with the weld rolls. The taper
roller bearings can then be precisely
preloaded in the weld roll prior to
installation in the stainless steel
clevises. Each clevis offers
quick-change stainless steel end caps.
-
Each clevis is mounted on a heavy-duty
3-jaw Rohm chuck, with operator side
adjustment feature
-
A face plate offers rear access holes
for quick change of chuck, when needed
-
Each weld roll clevis is individually
adjustable for precision match-up of
strip edges for welding
-
Jackscrews, with anti-backlash and
digital readouts for repeat setups, are
provided for wrench-free vertical and
horizontal adjustments
